Tattoo Removal

Your mother and best friend warned you not to, but you did it anyway. You went out and had a tattoo of your new love placed right where the whole world can see. Problem is, love fades but tattoos don't. Almost half of the people who get tattoos consider having it removed at on point or another. There are many reasons for this. The tattoo has faded or the skin is damaged, dulling the tattoo. Perhaps childbearing has altered its appearance. Maybe you are undergoing a change in lifestyle or personal taste. Or maybe you don't want to be affiliated with a certain group anymore. Whatever your reason, there is technology available which can remove your tattoo effectively -- without major surgery and with little or no scarring.

In the past, the only choices for tattoo removal were dermabrasion, cryosurgery (freezing), or surgically cutting the skin off. Today, the standard of care is with laser. With modern techniques, laser tattoo removal can be done with little or no pain and rarely produces scarring or permanent skin color changes.

New Image Laser Cosmetics utilizes Q-Switched lasers. This highly specialized laser delivers energy in extremely short bursts, fragmenting the ink into tiny particles that your immune system can then carry away. The color of the tattoo will determine which laser is used. Red, Blue and Black are the easiest to remove while Yellow and Green are the most difficult. The most common tattoo we remove are dark, homemade tattoos. Luckily, these are the easiest of all and frequently only require 2 or 3 treatments. Professional tattoo, with multiple colors are buy far more difficult and may require 10, 15 or even 20 treatments.

Scarring and infection are almost unheard of using modern techniques. Pain is rare, but topical anesthetics are always offered to our clients.
